Kern Steel Fabrication, Inc. (KSF) is well known in the industry as a structural steel fabricator that consistently meets or exceeds contract requirements and client expectations. This directly reflects the diligence and attention to detail of everyone at KSF--from the president of the company to the dedicated sweeper who constantly sweeps the shop to provide a clean and safe work area. The ability to continue to perform successfully in a very competitive field for 50 years indicates KSF has developed and maintained a strong and competent culture.
A license from the State of California and the City of Los Angeles to fabricate structural steel is necessary for success in the local market. Certification by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) for Steel Building Structures (STB) with a Sophisticated Paint Endorsement (P2, P3) distinguishes KSF from others in this market. Kern Steel Fabrication is known in the Bakersfield area and all of southern and central California as a fabricator of commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, and other government facilities. Most clients are not aware that KSF is also a leader in the design and construction of aircraft ground support maintenance platforms. Platforms have been designed and fabricated for everything from the Boeing 737 and 747 to all of the platforms required to complete isochronal maintenance for the Lockheed C-5. Current contracts include design, construction and installation of all platforms required to complete isochronal maintenance of the Lockheed C-130 and platforms for performing wing maintenace of the C-5. Our Sophisticated Paint Endorsement reflects not only the ability to properly apply sophisticated coatings, but the sophistication of our completely enclosed and climate controlled blasting facility and paint booth. Items to be painted are moved from the sandblasting facility to the paint booth through an enclosed passage. Painting is not limited to items fabricated by KSF, but includes tanks, vessels, heavy equipment, and complex industrial structures found in the oil fields of California. |
